Survey targets areas for Dining Services enhancements 10:33 a.m., April 22, 2004--During the fall of 2003, University of Delaware Dining Services began work on a food service master plan to address a variety of issues, including dining options and individual enhancements at locations across campus. The first part of this effort was an analysis called MarketMatch, a comprehensive look at campus dining habits, including the times and places people eat, what they like to eat, and what they would like included in the menus. In the MarketMatch process, hundreds of students participated in focus groups, and more than 60 faculty, staff and administrators were interviewed. MarketMatch identified several areas for enhancement. At Smittys in Smith Hall, areas under study are traffic patterns, speed of service and the possibility of additional product selection. At the Trabant University Center Food Court, topics under study are new food offerings, including additional healthy selections, and expediting the speed of service. In the residential dining halls, the possible expansion of hours of service is being considered for a test location during the fall 2004 semester. The focus of attention at the Christiana Commons, Harrington and Rodney markets includes a review of their online ordering capabilities as well as the consideration of new products. Dining Services appreciates the participation of the campus community in the Market Match process and looks forward to future development of enhancements resulting from the Market Match analysis, Susan Bogan, director of Dining Services, said.
