University public service organizations meet April 14-16 4 p.m., April 8, 2004--The annual Southern Consortium of University Public Service Organizations conference will be held Wednesday-Friday, April 14-16, in Clayton Hall. Members representing 19 universities and colleges from 13 states are expected to attend the conference, whose theme, Celebrating University-Community Partnerships, also commemorates the strong partnerships that the institutions maintain with state and local governments. The conference, which also is an opportunity for information sharing and networking, will be hosted by UDs Institute for Public Administration, a public service research center in the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy. Among prominent guests slated to make presentations at the conference are U.S. Sen. Thomas R. Carper, Scott Pattison, executive director of the National Association of State Budget Officers, and Jennifer Davis, budget director for the state of Delaware.
