Newark Symphony Orchestra concert set March 7

3 p.m., March 4, 2004--The Newark Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert titled “Visions of Valor” at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 7, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The concert will feature “Symphony No. 8 Unfinished” by Schubert, “Alexander Nevsky” by Prokofiev and “Violin Concerto No. 5” by Vieuxtemps, featuring award-winning violinist Dana Weiderhold.

Weiderhold was the 2003-04 College Division Winner in the Newark symphony’s youth competition. The Delaware Valley Chorale will be featured in the performance of Prokoviev’s “Alexander Nevsky.”

The program is made possible, in part, by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Delaware Division of the Arts.
