Cellist Stephen Framil in solo recital Feb. 12

4:56 p.m., Feb. 9, 2004--UD’s Department of Music presents Stephen Framil in a solo cello recital at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

The program features “Suite No.1 in G Major, BWV 1007” by J.S. Bach; “Sonata for Cello Solo, Op. 8” by Zoltán Kodály; “Sonata für Violoncello Solo, Op. 25 No. 3” by Paul Hindemith; and “Suite per Violoncello Solo” by Gaspar Cassadó.

A visiting assistant professor of music at UD, Framil is an active soloist and chamber musician. During the 2003-04 concert season, Framil made solo debut appearances with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra in Hungary, National Philharmonic of Moldova, Oltenia State Filarmonica in Romania and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant or Bob Carpenter box offices on the UD campus.
