Football championship commemorative Cokes now available

Cosmo Olivieri, UD Bookstore general manager: “There’s Coke, and then there’s UD football championship Coke. Try it. You’ll love it.”
4:09 p.m., June 22, 2004--For fans of Fightin’ Blue Hen football, special commemorative six-packs and single bottles of Coca-Cola Classic are a great way to slake a summer’s thirst while savoring the sweetness of the 2003 Blue Hen’s national football championship season.

The 8-ounce bottles, sold individually or in six-packs, are available at all UD Bookstore locations, at Walter's Café in Hullihen Hall, at Happy Harry’s on Main Street and in local grocery stores.

Designed by Keith Heckert, art director in the Office of Public Relations, the decorative bottles feature the distinctive blue and gold Blue Hen helmet and the UD Fightin’ Blue Hens NCAA Division I-AA logo, and the six-pack carrier includes a photo from that memorable December night.

At $4.99 per six-pack in the UD Bookstore, this limited production special is sure to become one of the summer’s top collectible items, Cosmo Olivieri, UD Bookstore general manager, said. The individual bottles are available in a blue velveteen bag printed with the championship logo in gold at $4.99 each.

“There’s Coke, and then there’s UD football championship Coke,” Olivieri said. “Try it. You’ll love it.”
