Cello and piano concert set April 8 5:05 p.m., April 6, 2004--Cellist Stephen Framil, visiting assistant professor, and UD piano accompanist Julie Nishimura will perform works by Chopin, Brahms, Prokofiev and Martinu in an 8 p.m. concert, Thursday, April 8, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. Nishimura, a past recipient of a Delaware State Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship, has served 15 years as faculty accompanist at UD, where she also instructs sight-reading and accompanying/chamber music courses. Nishimura has performed in Delaware Symphonys Chamber Music Series and Wilmington Music Schools Music Masters Series and will mark her 16th year as a guest artist with the Delaware Chamber Music Festival in June. She also is an active recital accompanist to members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Delaware Symphony and recently performed with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra in the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York City. She will perform in OperaDelawares production of Menottis The Medium this spring. Admission to the Framil-Nishimura concert is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $3 for students.
