Summer campus at UD for 2004

10:29 a.m., Jan. 30, 2004--From family friendly music sessions for babies and adults to baseball at the beach, summer camps at UD have something to appeal to kids of all ages and interests. A special UD summer camp guide is available for pickup from the Office of Public Relations, 150 South College Ave., and listings also are available online at [http://www.udel.edu/camps/].

Academic camps offer students from kindergarten to high school age a host of activities and adventures, ranging from attending college classes and living on the UD’s Newark campus, to the perennially popular aerospace camp for tomorrow’s galactic explorers and engineers. Other summer camps offer academic-based themes ranging from analytical chemistry, engineering and sciences to self-paced math and reading programs.

Sports camps at UD for girls and boys ages 7-18 include basic and specialized sports skills training, while providing competitive and noncompetitive learning in baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, field hockey and swimming.

Music camps at UD offer students from the cradle to pre-college opportunities to develop musical skills while fostering an appreciation for all types of music. Instruction also is provided on all types of instruments, incorporating a wide spectrum of musical genres and styles ranging from jazz and classical to choral and middle school band.

Other camps for kids aged 4-18 years include 4-H camps in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties, as well as programs that focus on health and environmental issues.
