Delaware’s Hagerich selected CAA Rookie of the Week

Bryan Hagerich is the CAA Rookie of the Week.
9:07 a.m., March 17, 2004--University of Delaware freshman outfielder Bryan Hagerich has been named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

Hagerich batted .438 with seven runs scored and four runs batted in as the Fightin’ Blue Hens went 4-0 last week to extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Hagerich belted a pair of home runs in Sunday's 5-4 win over Marist College, including a lead-off shot in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game and send it to extra innings.

For the season, Hagerich is hitting .313 with three home runs and nine RBI.

Hagerich is the second UD baseball player to earn CAA honors this season. Two weeks ago, junior Dave Harden was named CAA Player of the Week.

The Hens return to action on Wednesday, March 17, when they travel to Baltimore to take on the University of Hartford at 11 a.m. and the University of Maryland Baltimore County at 3 p.m.
