Blue Hen baseball team takes series from ODU

Dave Harden
10:19 a.m., April 19, 2004--The University of Delaware baseball team took a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series over Old Dominion University, winning two of three contests at Bob Hannah Stadium.

The Fightin’ Blue Hens won the opener 5-3 on Friday, fell 14-2 on Saturday and came back with a 5-4 victory on Sunday.

UD is now 16-15 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

The Hens will play a doubleheader at Penn State University on Tuesday, April 20.

In Sunday’s game, UD right fielder Dave Harden singled home center fielder Steve Van Note in the bottom of the ninth for the win. Van Note had three hits and scored two runs in the game.

Relief pitcher Joe Coudon, who came on for starter Jarame Beaupre, picked up the win.

In Friday’s victory, Van Note and shortstop Todd Davison had two hits each, and Harden smacked a two-run home run. Starting pitcher Scott Rambo got the win and Coudon earned a save.
