Homecoming banners on display in Trabant

3:15 p.m., Oct. 14, 2003--They come in colors like red and black and blue and gold, and they are hanging in the food court area of the Trabant University Center.

The Homecoming Weekend Spirit banners, designed by and representing various student groups are on display through Friday, Oct. 17. During Midnight Mania that begins at 10:30 p.m., Friday, the banners will be carried around the Bob Carpenter Center as the groups demonstrate their UD spirit during the Homecoming Spirit Banner Competition.

Groups displaying banners include the History Club, Black Student Union, Gospel Choir, Alpha Xi Delta, Student Centers Program Advisory Board, Resident Student Association and Greek Life.

Midnite Mania set for Friday, Oct. 17

Before the noontime kickoff of Saturday’s Homecoming football game against Rhode Island, the winning group will parade its banner onto Tubby Raymond Field, just ahead of the Fightin’ Blue Hens and will line up next to the UD Marching Band. Second- and third-place winners will be recognized through scoreboard messages and public address announcements.
