United Way’s Community Impact Fund awards money based on need and outcome

1:45 p.m., Oct. 27, 2003--Although everyone has a special cause he or she feels strongly about supporting, some programs require special attention and require urgent funding. United Way of Delaware’s Community Impact Fund fills this gap by combining undesignated pledges and investing the money in programs that serve Delaware’s most pressing human service issues.

Pledge now in UD’s United Way campaign

Pledgers uncertain about where their donation might make the most immediate impact might consider directing their pledge to the Community Impact Fund. Financial allocations are based on each program’s capacity to address community problems and demonstrate strong management and positive outcomes.

For more information on the Community Impact Fund, call 573-3700 or visit [www.uwde.org].

United Way’s campuswide campaign runs through Friday, Nov. 14, and aims to raise $175,000 in employee pledges. Members of the University community are asked to give generously by pledging online at [www.Udel.edu/unitedway].
