Holiday skating party Dec. 9

A holiday ice skating party will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at the University of Delaware’s Fred Rust Ice Arena, located on Route 896 in Newark.

This special event, which is sponsored by Arby’s Roast Beef restaurants, WSTW-fm, WDEL-am, the UD bookstore and UD Dining Services, will feature appearances by UD mascots YoUDee and Baby Blue, and a skating performance by youngsters in UD’s Ice Skating Training Center Program. The skating party also will include special gifts from Santa’s goody bag.

Admission to the party is $5 per person and that includes skate time, lunch of a hot dog and a small soda with refills and a coupon for 20 percent off purchases of $10 or more that day at the Ice Arena shop HenEssentials. Additional food items also will be available for sale and skate rentals are an additional $2 per pair.
