1:15 p.m., Oct. 22, 2002--University of Delaware freshman midfielder Ryan Edwards has been named Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Edwards scored his team-leading third goal of the season to give Delaware a 1-1 tie with the College of William and Mary on Saturday night, Oct. 19, at Delaware Mini-Stadium. The win gave the Blue Hens their first conference point as a member of the CAA.
Edwards got the equalizer when he stole the ball from a William and Mary defender at midfield and slid a shot into the lower right corner of the net at 66:47.
Edwards tops UD with seven points on the year.
Delaware (2-8-3, 0-3-1 CAA) returns to action Friday night, Oct. 25, when it hosts conference rival Towson. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
