3:45 p.m., Dec. 18, 2002-- Just in time for the holidays, Gund puppies are being sold by Academic Services to raise money for TRIO student scholarships. UD supports four TRIO programs--Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math/Science, Student Support Services and the Ronald F. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Program--which are targeted to help disadvantaged students progress from middle school to graduate school.
The floppy eared, pedigreed puppies, named Peanuts, come with their own tote bags and measure more than a foot long and may be purchased for $17.49 each. They also are being sold by Delaware State University and Delaware Technical and Community College.
Puppies also can be purchased in lots of 25 or more by organizations and given to children in hospital wards or day care centers, to elderly persons in nursing homes and to charities. Tags for a company name and logo are available.
For information and an order form, contact Karen Clark, senior secretary, Academic Services Center, by phone at 831-4102 or by e-mail to [KDC@udel.edu].
