Multi-ethnic Career Development Conference March 6

The 16th annual University of Delaware Multi-ethnic Career Development Conference will be held Wednesday evening, March 6.

The conference, which is sponsored by UD’s MBNA Career Services Center, will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.

The purpose of the conference is to encourage freshmen and sophomores to take advantage of University resources to better prepare for a career.

The program will consist of dinner and a presentation on dining etiquette, followed by the keynote speaker, Lauren Wilson, a reporter with Philadelphia television station WPVI.

After the keynote address, alumni panel discussions will be held on such topics as communication skills, corporate culture and attire, internships and part-time jobs and extracurricular activities. These 45-minute discussions will include question-and-answer periods. The first panel discussion will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will be repeated at 7:40 p.m.

Closing remarks will be by Margie Lopez Waite, senior vice president of MBNA America.
