Friday midnight practice opens men’s basketball season

Oct. 11, 2002--The University of Delaware men's basketball team will hold an open practice session Friday, Oct. 11, at midnight to kick off the 2002-03 season.

Although it will not be in the traditional “Midnight Mania” format, coach David Henderson's team will workout for an hour in the Bob Carpenter Center to formally open pre-season practice.

Delaware’s only open-to-the-public exhibition game takes place Wednesday, Nov. 6, against MBC Nikolaev of Ukraine. Game time at the Carpenter Center is 7:30 p.m. The Blue Hens will hold one other scrimmage. However, that scrimmage will be closed to conform with NCAA rules.

The Blue Hens, who advanced to the CAA semifinals last season, will open the 2002-03 regular season at La Salle on Friday, Nov. 22.
