The Office of the Provost and the Center for International Studies are seeking applications from faculty for the new International Research Awards.
The awards are designed to enhance opportunities for faculty and students to better understand the global challenges facing the nation, and are part of the University-wide America and the Global Community Initiative.
International Research Awards, up to a maximum of $10,000, will support research in international studies to serve as seed money for projects that will lead to larger, externally funded support. It is expected that five projects will be funded.
Submissions must include a two-page narrative explaining the project, its contributions to the field and prospects for funding from external sources, plus a budget. All proposals must have some contribution from the department, college or unit. Proposals may be from individuals or a team; interdisciplinary teams are encouraged and will be given preference.
The deadline is 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 8, and six copies of proposals should be submitted to International Research Award, c/o Bahram Rajaee, Center for International Studies, 4 Kent Way.
A faculty committee chaired by David Pong, professor of history, will review the proposals and make recommendations to the Office of the Provost.
