Center to inventory international projects

The Center for International Studies is asking the UD community to take part in a web-based survey that will allow it to take a more active role in internationalizing the University. Deadline for filling out the questionnaire is Dec. 17.

Bahram Rajaee, director of international projects, explained that International Programs and Special Sessions recently was restructured to better serve the campus community. International Programs became the center, with part of its mission to work more closely with academic departments to internationalize what they are doing. “The first step is to find out what’s going on outside the center,” Rajaee said, “and this survey is going to help do that.”

The questionnaire, which can be found at [http://international.ipss.udel.edu/Survey2001F.asp], asks that faculty, administrators and staff describe the externally funded international teaching and research they’ve done during the past 10 years.

In an e-mail sent to the campus community, Acting Provost Daniel Rich explained, “This survey is an essential part of the center's initiative to gather information on the wide-ranging and ongoing international interests and activities of University faculty and professionals. The results will be used to develop a documented and thorough picture of our international activities, as a prelude to effectively tailoring the center's activities and targeting areas for support in the future.”
