Sept. 17, 2002--Newark Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred around 1 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, in the 300 block of Manuel Street, near the Newark campus. The victim was not a University student.
Three unidentified suspects, two of them armed with handguns, knocked on the 19-year-old victim’s front door. When he opened it, they forced their way in, pointed guns at him and demanded cash. Two of the suspects held the victim at gunpoint while the third searched through his belongings. After obtaining some cash, the suspects fled on foot through Lewis Park toward Academy Street. The victim was not injured.
