Homecoming Weekend 2002

10:51 a.m., Oct. 18, 2002--Neither clouds nor rain could stop loyal Fightin’ Blue Hen alumni from returning to UD for Homecoming Weekend, Oct. 11-13, to meet friends, take part in the many special activities planned for the weekend and generally have a great time.

To top off the celebration, the weather improved Saturday afternoon for the football game when the Hens toppled James Madison University 23-10.

For the class of 1952, which marked its 50th anniversary, as well as the classes of 1957, 1977 and 1992, this was a special reunion year, and large numbers from these classes returned to the campus to celebrate Homecoming with pre-game festivities and evening banquets.

Alumni turned out in droves for the College of Arts and Science Art Loop Friday night, the pregame brunch honoring Carol Hoffecker, Richards Professor of History, and the postgame reception at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, honoring Dan Carson, chairperson and Trustees Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences.
