NYC freelance writer and UD alumnus to speak Nov. 4.

4:25 p.m., Nov. 1, 2002--New York City magazine freelance writer/editor and UD alumnus Ester Crain is the featured speaker for “The Whirling World of New York Magazines: A Conversation with Ester Crain,” at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, in 205 Gore Hall.

Crain, who began her journalistic career as an editor and reporter for The Review, has served as senior editor at Cosmopolitan and Glamour. She currently writes a monthly column for Cosmopolitan, Maxim and CosmoGirl and is a contributing editor for Touch Weekly, a new magazine for which she will write a weekly celebrity-themed health column.

Her work as a freelancer also has appeared in Self, Fitness, Parenting and YM. Crain received her bachelor’s degree in journalism at UD in 1992 and has earned a MFA in creative writing at Emerson College.
