Oct. 4, 2002--The University, the city of Newark and the Downtown Newark Partnership have joined together to present Family Fest, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct 6, on Main Street, as part of Freshman Parents Weekend.

Family Fest features dining and retailing specials, appearances by the Fightin’ Blue Hen mascot YoUDee and live entertainment on the Academy Building lawn, at the corner of Academy and Main streets.

Planned entertainment includes:

• Noon—UD Ballroom Dance Team

• 1 p.m.—Y-Chromes, men’s a cappella group

• 1:30 p.m.—D# Sharps, women’s a cappella group

• 2 p.m.—Delaware Dance Team

Free parking will be available at meters on Main Street, in all Newark municipal lots and in the Trabant University Center Parking Garage.
