Delaware's Creed named CAA Rookie of the Week
 

Oct.. 2, 2002--University of Delaware freshman midfielder Mary Beth Creed has been named Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for her two game-winning goals last week.

Creed, a native of Owings Mills, Md., and a product of McDonogh High School, scored her first collegiate goal in a 4-2 win over St. Francis (Pa.) College on Sept. 25. She followed that up with the deciding goal in a 1-0 victory over Towson on Sunday. The win gave UD its first conference win as a member of the CAA.

Creed ranks fourth on the team this season with five points (2 goals, 1 assist).

Delaware (5-3, 1-0 CAA) will return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when it plays host to conference rival UNC Wilmington at Delaware Mini-Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.
