Corporate governance series to examine 'overcompensation' Oct. 3

Sept. 26, 2002--Executive overcompensation will be the topic of discussion when a seminar series sponsored by the University of Delaware Center for Corporate Governance continues on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The session, part of a class taught by Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Professor of Corporate Governance and center director, will meet from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in 125 MBNA America Hall.

The campus community is welcome to attend the session. Because seating is limited, those who are interested are asked to call 831-6157 for reservations.

The Oct. 3 discussion will feature guest panelists Joseph Bachelder, founder, The Law Offices of Joseph E. Bachelder; Hank Barnette, chairman emeritus, Bethlehem Steel; Warren Batts, former chairman and chief executive officer of Tupperware; Peter Clapman, senior vice president, TIAA-CREF; John England, principal and manager, Towers Perrin; Brian Hall, associate professor, Harvard Business School; Jamie Heard, chief executive officer, Institutional Shareholder Services; Greg Lau, executive director of global compensation, General Motors; Pearl Meyer, co-found, Pearl Meyer & Partners; Eric Roiter, general counsel, Fidelity Management & Research Co.; and E. Norman Veasey, chief justice of the Delaware Supreme Court.
