City offers reserved parking near University Courtyard Apts.

Sept. 27, 2002--The city of Newark is offering monthly parking passes in its Delaware Avenue and Farmer’s Lane parking lot, just across from University Courtyard Apartments.

Monthly passes in the 80-space lot, which was opened last November, are available at $50 a month. Monthly passes, which are selling fast, guarantee customers an individual reserved parking space.

Maureen Feeney-Roser, assistant planning director for the city, said that as the business center of the city shifts slightly eastward, obtaining a reserved parking place in the city’s newest parking lot is a good bargain.

“I think it is a great opportunity to help solve long-term parking needs in the city,” Feeney-Roser said. “It also can help free up hourly spaces for people coming to Newark to shop and dine at one of the many restaurants in the area.”
