Choral concert tonight at Clayton Hall

June 26, 2002--The Maryland State Boychoir will present a free public concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 27, at Clayton Hall, on the University of Delaware’s Laird Campus.

Under the direction of its founder Frank T. Cimino, the 112-voice choir of boys ages 7-to-17 from central Maryland, performs many concerts each year in Maryland and on tours throughout Europe, as well as states in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest regions of the country.

Joining Cimino in directing the choir are associate director Steven Holmes and Rebecca Rossello, director of the Treble Choir, with accompaniment by Matthew Lane and Vincent Craig.

Building on 15 centuries of musical tradition, the choir, which just completed its 15th season, has an extensive repertoire of the music of the great European cathedrals as well as a wide assortment of other music, including international songs in several languages, traditional American songs, spirituals and contemporary gospel music.
