UD participates in Chemistry Expo Nov. 10

The American Chemical Society will sponsor an exposition with the theme “Chemistry and Art” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the campus of Delaware Technical and Community College in Stanton. Participants will include UD’s Chandra Reedy, director of the art conservation research program, and Travis Geery, an art graduate student who works in ceramics.

A representative of the ACS said that, over the last two centuries, chemists have greatly improved the materials available to artists, from paints and dyes to plastics and glazing materials.

The exposition will be the concluding event for National Chemistry Week.
