Corporate governance experts to speak Sept. 12

Sept. 11, 2002--The nation’s leading corporate governance experts will visit the University of Delaware campus this fall to participate in panel discussions sponsored by UD’s Center for Corporate Governance.

The series, which is part of the course “Advanced Corporate Governance,” taught by Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance and director of the Center for Corporate Governance, will open with a discussion on the roles of shareholders and stakeholders on Thursday, Sept. 12. The discussion will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in 126 MBNA America Hall.

Featured on the semester’s opening panel will be Alexander Giacco, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Hercules Inc.; Bill Bratton, professor of law at the George Washington University Law School; Howard Kristol, partner, Duane Morris, and former director of Scott Paper and Sunbeam; Jerry Rosenfeld, CEO of Rothschild North America; Steve Rothschild, partner, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; and Myron Steele, justice, Delaware Supreme Court.
