Heart Walk captains sought for UD teams

June 10, 2002--The University of Delaware will again participate in the American Heart Walk to be held Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Wilmington riverfront, continuing its outstanding record of support.

"We hope to continue our track record of being in the top 10 companies locally raising funds," Marianne Carter, director of the Wellness Center, said.

As a first step, UD is seeking "Heart Captains," individuals who are willing to manage a team of about 10 persons. Duties include recruiting team members, motivating them to raise funds, turning in the team's money on the day of the walk and identifying which team members earn incentives. Walkers can earn prizes based on how much money they collect.

For details or to volunteer, contact Carter at 831-1109 or via e-mail at [mcarter@udel.edu].
