Botanic Garden Friends plan plant sale Sept. 7

Aug. 6, 2002--The University of Delaware Botanic Garden Friends will hold a fall plant show and sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Fischer Greenhouse Laboratory.

UD Botanic Gardens Friends holds an annual plant sale featuring plants with fall and winter interest. More than 80 plant varieties are being grown for the sale, and they include sedums, which are sun-loving, drought-resistant plants that adapt well to poor soil.

Proceeds from the sale fund undergraduate student scholarships and garden improvements.

For a plant list or information about becoming a member of the Botanic Gardens Friends, call Caroline Golt at 831-2627.

Fischer Greenhouse Laboratory is located behind Townsend Hall, off South College Avenue.
