12:45 p.m., Oct. 28, 2002--The Atlantic 10 Football Conference has honored two University of Delaware players for their work in the 21-9 victory over the University of New Hampshire on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Linebacker Dan Mulhern was named co-Defensive Player of the Week, sharing the honors with defensive lineman Steve Boyer of Richmond, and punter Ryan Bleiler was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Mulhern, a senior, recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including 12 unassisted stops, in the victory. Two of those tackles were behind the line of scrimmage.
Mulhern leads UD with 96 tackles on the season.
Bleiler, also a senior, averaged 48.0 yards on five punts against New Hampshire. Two of those punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.
Bleilers 63-yard punt tied a career-long. He is averaging 40.2 yards per punt for the season.
