2002 grads take to UD plates

Sept. 27, 2002--The official UD license plate—available in four states through the Office of Alumni Relations—is now being offered to UD’s newest alumni—the Class of 2002.

A reminder that alumni from Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia can purchase the plates with the UD logo was part of a larger alumni information packet recently mailed to May 2002 graduates.

The packet includes a license plate frame and sample license plate, as well as descriptions of the many benefits available to UD grads, including special deals on Blue Hen season tickets, the Performing Arts Series and membership in UD’s Blue and Gold Club. New grads automatically become members of the UD Alumni Association.

Anyone with a car registered in the four states is eligible for the UD tag, and the plates have become a bit hit with UD grads since their inception in 1996.
Alumni and fans of UD use the tags to reflect a wide variety of sentiments, including wedding or engagement dates, birthdays, UD football jersey numbers and, of course, graduation years.

Applications and sample plates will be available before the New Hampshire football game at the Pre-Game Brunch and Pep Rally on Saturday, Oct. 26. For more information about purchasing a UD tag or to see sample plates, call the Office of Alumni and University Relations at 831-2341, send e-mail to [UD-Plate@udel.edu] or visit the web site at [www.udel.edu/alumni/plates.html].
