UDRF presents research awards to 13 faculty
 

University of Delaware Research Foundation (UDRF) awards for 2002-03 totaling $381,603, have been awarded to 13 faculty members:

Baidurya Bhattacharya, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, $29,957 for “The Role of Small-Scale Fluctuations in Material Behavior and Failure”;

Jeremy S. Edwards, assistant professor of chemical engineering, $30,000 for “Novel Technology for Whole Cell Transcription Profiling”;

Joseph M. Fox, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, $30,000 for “Asymmetric Synthesis with Strained Molecules”;

Eric M. Furst, assistant professor of chemical engineering, $30,000 for “Microrheological and Micromechanical Approaches to Celluar Mechanics and Motility”;

Deni S. Galileo, assistant professor of biological sciences, $30,000 for “Invasive Brain Tumors”;

Javier Garcia-Frias, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, $29,984 for “Turbo-like Codes for Quantum Error Correction”;

Nancy Getchell, assistant professor of health and exercise sciences, $29,825 for “Multilimb Coordination in Typically Developing Children”;

John E. Gizis, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, $27,290 for “A Search for Young Brown Dwarfs and Isolated Giant Plants”;

Kristi L. Kiick, assistant professor of materials science and engineering, $30,000 for “Production and Characterization of Genetically Engineering Artificial Glycoproteins”;
