Alumni can help UD students determine a career direction by registering on-line to serve as host/mentors for the Day on the Job Program.
Initiated 12 years ago by interested alumni and the Career Services Center, the Day on the Job program matches students with alumni in occupations of mutual interest. Through interaction with alumni over the telephone or at their workplace, students may be able to take the guesswork out of career decision making.
To become part of Day on the Job, alumni may now go directly to the website <http://www.udel.edu/CSC/dayonthejob.html> to enter biographical and job information on the web form. Students will see only career-related information. An alum's name and phone number are kept confidential until a Career Services staff member meets with the student and makes the match. Selected alumni mentors will then be contacted by Career Services with the names and background information of the students who will be contacting them.
Day on the Job needs alumni mentors from every occupation and every part of the country to expand the alumni mentor data bank. Share your real world expertise and build rewarding relationships with current UD students. For further information, contact Marianne Green at (302) 831-1232.
All credential/reference files for graduates of classes 1975-85 held at the Career Services Center will be destroyed July 2000 due to space restrictions unless notification is received from alumni who wish to maintain and reactivate their files. For further information, call Marianne Green at (302) 831-1232 or send e-mail to <megreen@udel.edu>. Official transcripts and student teaching reports will continue to be available through the Office of the University Registrar and the School of Education's Clinical Studies Office.
