The University of Delaware Board of Trustees approved promotions of 54 faculty members at its semiannual meeting May 23. The appointments take effect Sept. 1.

Nineteen members of the faculty were promoted to the rank of full professor with tenure:

From the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

Thomas Evans, plant and soil sciences; and Lidia Rejto, food and resource economics;

From the College of Arts and Sciences

Gretchen Bauer, political science and international relations; David Edwards, mathematical sciences; Annette Giesecke, foreign languages and literatures; Matthew Kinservik, English; Ulhaus Naik, biological sciences; Kathryn Scantlebury, chemistry and biochemistry; and Vijay Shanker, computer and information sciences;

From the Lerner College of Business and Economics

Thomas Becker, business administration; and Gregory Kane, accounting and management information systems;

From the College of Health Sciences

Linda Bucher, nursing; Slobodan Jaric, health, nutrition and exercise sciences; and Paula Klemm, nursing;

From the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy

Maria Aristigueta, urban affairs and public policy; Michael Ferrari and Bahira Sherif Trask, both individual and family studies; Janet Hethorn, fashion and apparel studies; and Eugene Matusov, education;

Also, Kathryn Denhardt, urban affairs and public policy, was promoted to the rank of full professor without tenure.

Four faculty members were promoted to the rank of associate professor without tenure:

Beth Morling, psychology;

Eric Jacobson and Steven Peuquet, both urban affairs and public policy.

Two faculty members were promoted to the rank of assistant professor without tenure. They are Raheemah Jabbar-Bey, urban affairs and public policy, and Grant Wolf, English Language Institute.

Also, Christiana Honsberg, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, was granted tenure.
