The Visual Communications Group in the Department of Art at the University of Delaware is hosting an international typography exhibition, “Bukva:raz!” from 9:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., through Friday, Feb. 28, in the Gallery of Recitation Hall, Main Street and North College Avenue, Newark.

Organized by the Association Typographique Internationale, the exhibition displays the 100 best typeface designs completed or released over the past five years. “Bukva:raz!,” which loosely translates into “letter-one” in Russian, celebrates cultural pluralism and encourages diversity, interaction and cooperation in typographic communications.

The exhibition, which came to UD after being displayed in the visitor’s lobby of the United Nations General Assembly building, was featured in the U.N.’s 2001 global “Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations” campaign.

Type designs and designers from Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Israel, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the United States are represented in the exhibit. For more information, visit [http://designers.art.udel.edu/].
