The University of Delaware’s Professional Theatre Training Program will present “The Beaux Stratagem,” a classic comedy by George Farquhar, as it continues its 2002-03 season. The production opens Saturday, April 19, in Hartshorn Hall, located at the corner of Academy Street and East Park Place, Newark.

The masterpiece comedy tells a story of mistaken identities, misunderstood intentions, two penniless rogues and a madcap band of local highwaymen, who serve up a delectable and uproarious feast of matrimonial complications.

Performances scheduled for April incude Saturday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. May performances will be held on Thursday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 4, at 12:30 p.m.; and Saturday, May 10, at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are $14-$17 for the public, $12-$15 for the University community and senior citizens and $7-$10 for students and may be purchased in person, by mail or phone from the Hartshorn box office. For more information, call the box office at (302) 831-2204.
