Ag Day adventure

Julia Dugan watches as her 4-year-old daughter, Margaret, pats a pony at the 25th annual Ag Day, held in April at Townsend Hall and on the adjoining University Farm. Sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and primarily organized by undergraduates, the popular event allows children to pet a piglet or watch a cow being milked. Farm tours by wagon, food booths, a plant sale by the Friends of the UD Botanic Gardens, a bike rodeo, art projects and assorted exhibits on food safety, lawn care and endangered species were among this year's attractions. Ag Day benefits student clubs, the UD Master Gardener program and 4-H clubs.
