Scoreboard quarterback
Jim Demes, AS '92, who works at W.L. Gore & Associates, just completed his fifth year as scoreboard operator for the Fightin' Blue Hens football team. Sitting in the press box, Demes looks down on the 40-yard line, keeping track of the score, the number of downs and the yards gained or lost. "It's a great seat for every game," he says. "Plus, at 5-foot, 6-inches, there is no way I could ever play football. But, keeping the scoreboard helps me feel like I am involved in the game."
