Outstanding alumni honored for service

Frances O. Allmond, HR '53, of Wilmington, Del., and Samuel J. Talucci, AG '51, of Haverford, Pa., recently received Outstanding Alumni Awards in recognition of their exceptional volunteer service to UD and its Alumni Association.

Allmond, who is currently her class representative, successfully co-chaired the 40th reunion of her class and has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors. A member of the Library Associates since 1957, she has held several offices in that organization and she also is active in the Human Resources Alumni Association. She and her husband, Charles, AG '53, have two children, Bayard W. Allmond, AS '79, and Susan Allmond Long, HR '80.

Talucci was co-chairperson for the 45th reunion for his class year, and he has served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and UD's Athletic Fund Board. A member of the University's Alumni Wall of Fame, he retired in 1989 after nearly 34 years with the Rohm & Haas Co., where he was in charge of expanding operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Talucci has been active with various industry associations, including the Chemical Manufacturers Association and the National Agricultural Chemicals Association Board. He and his wife, Louise, AG '49, are members of the Delaware Diamonds Society.
