John T. Brook retires

After more than 26 years at the University, John T. Brook, vice president for government and public relations, retired Jan. 15. Brook came to Delaware in 1970 as director of public safety, serving as assistant to the president for special projects from 1977-85, as vice president for personnel and employee relations from 1985-86 and as vice president for government relations from 1986-90. As vice president for government and public relations, he had responsibility for overseeing the Office of Government Relations, the Office of Public Relations and the Occupational Health and Safety unit. Active in several regional organizations, he served on the boards of directors of the Arthritis Foundation-Delaware chapter, Committee of 100 and the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. A life member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, he also is a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI.
