University of Delaware Office of Public Relations The Messenger Vol. 5, No. 4/1996 Double diplomas Commencement was a special day for the Reuter family when father, Kenneth J. Reuter, received a B.S. degree from the College of Business and Economics while his son, Kenneth C. Reuter, received a B.A. degree in psychology. The senior Reuter decided to finish a degree he began in 1968, after his daughter, Wendy Reuter, graduated in nursing from the University in 1994. He took a year sabbatical from his job as vice president of sales of Frametome, a French nuclear engineering and construction company, and attended every session available for a little over a year, taking more than 50 credit hours. Would he do it again? "Absolutely," Reuter said, "It was a fabulous experience; the staff was helpful; professors were outstanding and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable in the classroom again." Originally, the older Reuter said he would sit in the stands with other parents for Commencement, but his son would not hear of this. The duo marched into Delaware Stadium together.
