Amber collection on display

The Teutonic Knight, carved from Baltic amber of a butterscotch hue,

the University Gallery's West Gallery in Old College. Donated to the
University by Sarah Jastak-Burgess and Leslie M. Burgess, the
collection--one of the largest in the world--includes amber carvings,
jewelry and other works in shades ranging from a creamy bone to yellow and
fiery tomato. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays,
and from 1-5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. Located on the second floor of
Old College, the University Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
