Messenger - Vol. 3, No. 2, Page 16 Winter 1994 Amber collection on display The Teutonic Knight, carved from Baltic amber of a butterscotch hue, is one selection from a 116-piece collection on display through April 15 at the University Gallery's West Gallery in Old College. Donated to the University by Sarah Jastak-Burgess and Leslie M. Burgess, the collection--one of the largest in the world--includes amber carvings, jewelry and other works in shades ranging from a creamy bone to yellow and fiery tomato. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, and from 1-5 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. Located on the second floor of Old College, the University Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
