Women's athletics celebrates 25th
     Women's intercollegiate athletics at the University of Delaware will
mark its 25th anniversary in 1993-94. The year-long celebration will
culminate Saturday, April 23, with a 5-kilometer run/walk, tailgate party,
women's intercollegiate softball and lacrosse games and an evening
reception and banquet. All women who have been athletes, their families and
friends of Delaware women's athletics are invited to participate.

Laboratory Preschool turns 60
     The University's Laboratory Preschool in the College of Human
Resources will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 1994.
     If you have been associated with the program, director Alice Eyman

Library exhibit features "Delaware in Wartime"
     "Delaware in Wartime," focusing on the role Delaware and Delawareans
played in times of war from early American colonial conflicts through World
War II, will be on view in the Special Collections Exhibition Gallery of
the Hugh M. Morris Library from Aug. 25 through Dec. 17.
     The exhibition will display an array of items, including books,
diaries, letters, photographs, advertising materials, artwork, manuscripts
and sheet music. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays, and
until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.
     In conjunction with Homecoming, on Saturday, Oct. 30, the gallery also
will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For further details, call (302)

Alumni needed for move-in
     Hoping to make freshman move-in day a little more pleasant, the Alumni
Association Student Outreach Committee invites alumni to help new students
move into residence halls between 9 a.m. and noon on Monday, Aug. 30.
Alumni "teams" are now forming.

Help recent grads adjust
     Alumni willing to help recent graduates settle in an unfamiliar area
are encouraged to participate in the Recent Graduate Relocation Program.
Coordinated by the Student Alumni Association, the program seeks volunteers
to be resources for young alumni on information such as housing, shopping
and banking.

Report additions
     The following are additions to the "1991-92 Report of Private

     * Emalea Pusey Warner was honored with a memorial gift.
     * Dr. Marna Cupp Whittington, Delaware '68, is in the Blue Hen Club
       ($1,000 - $2,499).

Corrections
     Miles Powell Jr., Delaware '50, is a member of the Athletics Visiting
Committee pictured on page 22 of the Winter 1993 Messenger.
     In the same issue, H. Rodney Sharp (1880-1968) should have been
identified as a chairperson of the Board of Trustees' Committee on Grounds
and Building in the story "The Art of Landscaping."
