ARA contracts for all campus dining services

All food service at the University of Delaware, from residence
hall cafeterias to campus catering, will now be provided by ARA
Campus Dining Services of Radnor, Pa.
Under a contract signed in July, ARA will provide food service
at the University's six cafeterias, six snack bars, four restaurants,
two conference centers, one faculty dining room, the Blue and Gold
Club, plus numerous portable, fast-food carts. The company also will
provide catering, vending and athletic concession services to the
campus.
ARA was recommended by an independent, campuswide review
committee as the preferred contractor for dining services. The
committee spent two months in extensive review and discussion of the
options for dining services. Committee members made on-site visits to
five other campuses served by the vendors under consideration, before
reporting "it is in the best interest of students, employees and the
University community-at-large to accelerate the rate of improvement in
University Dining Services by recommending an outside food service
contractor."
Randle Clay, who previously worked as ARA's district manager with
responsibility for Delaware State College, Widener University Law
School and St. Andrews School, has been assigned as resident district
manager for the University operation. ARA's Campus Dining Services
also provides the food service for 250 other universities and colleges
nationwide, including the University of Virginia and New York
University.
"We have every reason to believe that the experience and
resources that ARA brings to the University will be rewarding for our
employees and all the constituences we serve, including students,
alumni, parents and guests," President David P. Roselle said.
