UDon't want to miss this!
We all know how much fun it is to visit the UD campus and meet up with old friends at Homecoming, but now there’s a new tradition—yet another opportunity to reconnect with your alma mater and reminisce with fellow Blue Hens—and it kicks off this May. Best of all, it gives participants an early look at the University’s vision for its future.
Join us on campus at the University of Delaware Forum on Saturday, May 10, a daylong event filled with special activities. Meet at the Bob Carpenter Center and then move on by shuttle bus to The Green for a variety of get-togethers. Panels throughout the day, featuring faculty moderators and distinguished leaders from industry, will address key issues of importance for the University and its growing role as a national and international leader. The Forum also will include a chance to see the new Exelon Trading Center, a simulated trading floor for business students, in action.
For lunch, an international food fair on the South Green will provide plenty of opportunities to meet, greet and mingle.
The morning and afternoon activities will include keynote speakers, followed by panels that will address current topics relating to globalization, law and economics, entrepreneurship, arts and culture, the environment, education and other challenging issues. Specific panels include:
The University of Delaware Forum will culminate with a presentation by President Patrick Harker on initiatives proposed by the University-wide Strategic Planning Committee and a discussion of his vision for UD’s path to prominence in the decade ahead. That presentation, at the Bob Carpenter Center, will be followed by a closing reception.
Make your plans to attend this first-of-its-kind event and to be part of the University’s bright future. Cost of the daylong Forum is $35. For more information and to register, visit the web site [www.udel.edu/forum] or call the Office of Conferences at (302) 831-2214.
