Sharing an (online) affinity for Delaware

The University offers several options for alumni to stay connected to their alma mater. The Messenger is mailed four times a year, the UDaily for Alumni e-newsletter gets sent every week, alumni club events are held throughout the country, and reunion events are held on campus each year for various class years and affinity groups.

Now, the University of Delaware Alumni Association is doing more than ever to help Blue Hens stay connected to UD and to other alumni, no matter where they are.

The University is in the implementation phase of a new Online Community—a social networking site just for Delaware alumni. The community should launch in early 2008. It will allow alumni to make connections, get in touch, get the news, network with other UD alums and stay involved.

It also allows each alum the opportunity to update contact information and control what is displayed in the directory on his or her personal profile page. Alumni can also view class notes and photos from other alums and send e-mails to old friends and classmates using blind e-mail, which does not reveal others’ e-mail addresses. This is all done through a password-protected site only for UD graduates.

It’s just one way the University is trying to make the world smaller and bring UD closer to you.

More information about registration will be coming in the mail shortly.
