All alumni of the University will find it helpful to know the following:
Alumni are automatically members of the Alumni Association, which plans events, sponsors awards for outstanding alumni and the Alumni Wall of Fame, supports alumni and student programs and, in the past 10 years, has given more than $3 million to the University for scholarships.
Beginning with this issue, all alumni with current addresses on file will receive the UD Messenger, the University’s award-winning, quarterly magazine.
The Messenger wants to know what’s new in your life—a marriage or new baby, a job promotion or other milestone. Alumni can submit news about themselves to the “Class Notes” section of the magazine by filling out a web form at [www.udel.edu/alumni/intouch.html].
Interested alumni can sign up for e-mail news from the University through the UDaily for Alumni web site. Go to [www.udel.edu/udaily] and select “UDaily Alumni” in the top right corner. At the very bottom of the alumni page, you can click to subscribe to daily or weekly e-mail service.
On May 1, due to space limitations, the University’s Bank of America Career Services Center will destroy the credential/reference files of those who graduated between 1995 and 2000. Anyone from those class years who wants records maintained and reactivated should contact Jill Gugino at (302) 831-1232 or by e-mail at [jgugino@udel.edu]. Official transcripts and student teaching reports will continue to be available through the Office of the University Registrar and the School of Education’s Clinical Studies Office.
Alumni are invited to serve as career mentors for current UD students through a new program developed by Career Services. Interested alumni create online profiles with their academic, professional and mentoring information, and they decide how they want to interact with students—by phone or e-mail, for example—and how many students they’re willing to meet with each month. Anyone interested in joining the network or learning more about it can contact Marianne Green at [megreen@udel.edu] or Sarah Kohut at [sarah.kohut@gmail.com].
All alumni can support their alma mater by making a gift through the Office of University Development at [www.udel.edu/development/makeagift.htm] or (302) 831-2104. Donations can be specified for a particular use, college or program.
