Outstanding Alumni Award

Thorpe Moeckel, AS ’79, and Margaret “Peggy” Carpenter Moeckel, AS ’76, received the 2007 Outstanding Alumni Award for their many years of contributing their talents and service to UD and to the Alumni Association.

The award was presented by President Patrick Harker and Alumni Association President Shanté Hastings (above, right) at the Homecoming brunch held to honor the Class of 1957.

Both Moeckels have served on the UD Parent Board, the Alumni Association Board and the Friends of Delaware Lacrosse. Thorpe Moeckel also served as president of the UD Alumni Association and is a member of the Trustees’ Visiting Committee on Athletics and a volunteer speaker for UD civil engineering.
