Wanted: Blood type
True Blue Positive
Students, alumni, staff and friends of UD have the opportunity to take on other Colonial Athletic Association schools in donating the gift of life while helping UD win its fifth trophy in the annual CAA “Have a Heart” Blood Challenge.
This year’s campus blood drive will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Trabant University Center. Sponsored by the Resident Student Association, the Latino student organization HOLA, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Food Science Club, the blood drive is a friendly and valuable competition among CAA institutions.
UD won the first four Blood Challenges, from 2002-05, and finished a close second to Drexel University last year. The 2006 drive also
shattered all previous records with 3,215 donors throughout the CAA—almost half of them from UD and Drexel combined—and
3,287 productive units of blood collected. At UD, last year’s event marked the most successful drive ever by the Blood Bank
of Delmarva.Although some walk-in donors may be able to be accommodated, advance registration is suggested. Call (888) 8-BLOOD-8.
